So I’m hungry. Not unusual for 8.00pm or thereabouts. I’d flown up from Nelson to Parararaumu, left a calling card jammed into a friend’s door and headed the rental northwards to Levin. Pulled off that widest of main streets into the KFC Drive Through and gave an order for a five piece pack. Paid my money and waited. Kaz comes back saying she is terribly sorry but there is going to be a three minute wait because someone ate all the chicken! Apologising profusely she asked if I minded waiting and, even though the hunger pangs were doing a merry dance on the inside, I said no worries – I was getting to know the tunes on the new AA Bondy CD! She grinned and then offered me some free fries and drink to nibble on while I was waiting! Service? That was service! One very happy customer whose hunger pangs were taken care of with a great piece of business redemption. I began to compose a poem to that great taste! Well done KFC Levin. Hats off to Kaz!
